The Carousel at The District

The Carousel at The District continues to delight visitors of all ages. The vintage style carousel features 32 animal and two chariots. Guests can ride on the traditional majestic renaissance style horses, or a myriad of menagerie animals including a tiger, an ostrich, a giraffe, or even a frog! Tokens to ride The Carousel can be purchased at the attraction. Stop at The District Store & Guest Services located adjacent to The Green for information about a birthday party.
Fall and Winter hours are as follows:

Hop on the Bird Mobile

Take a tour of the Bird Viewing Preserve on the Bird Mobile! It seats six visitors and is an excellent way to see the preserve, especially for visitors who find walking difficult. Children must be at least 6 years old and each child must be accompanied by a registered adult. Seats are limited, so sign up early.
Tours may be cancelled due to inclement weather.

Bark in the Park

Join the City of Henderson, Parks and Recreation Department at Paseo Verde Park for their annual Bark in the Park. They will feature four full hours of fun events for you and your pooch. There will be demonstrations and booths for you to enjoy. Take part in a variety of contests, and meet lots of beautiful dogs looking for good homes. Expect lots of new twists this year.
All pets must be on a leash, and handlers must be at least 10 years old. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

Stroll Along the Bluff's Trail Lake Mead National Recreation Area

Learn about the plants and animals of the Mojave Desert with Ranger Megan as she strolls along the Bluff’s Trail at the Las Vegas Bay Campground. This will be an easy 1-mile hike that will overlook the Las Vegas Wash.

River Mountain Trail Lake Mead Recreational Area

Join Ranger Emily on a hike that travels up to the saddle between Red and Black Mountain in the River Mountains area. This trail ends at a rocky knoll that offers views of rugged landscapes including the Las Vegas Valley and Lake Mead. This is a 5-mile moderately strenuous hike.

Tuesdays on the Trail

If you’re looking for a new trail but aren’t sure where to go, join a staff member for a one hour walk on a Henderson trail. Meet at Equestrian Park, register, and take a walk. Wear comfortable, weather appropriate clothing and bring water. Look for the Tuesdays on the Trail sign and start exploring your local trails.
Children and teens under 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Your one hour guided walk is FREE!
