Cultural arts series features FREE live performances and family-friendly activities
ArtBeat presented by Target, a cultural arts series sponsored by the City of Henderson and Target, returns in April with a lineup that will appeal to all audiences. The featured performing acts include Lucy Walsh, daughter of Eagles’ guitarist Joe Walsh, pianist Jon Schmidt, country Western singer Chuck Mead and local group, Tony Scodwell’s Big Band. All four shows will take place at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water Street, in the Water Street District with performances beginning at 8 p.m. The event includes pre-show activities, such as art displays and children’s make & take crafts at 7 p.m. Admission is FREE.
Lucy Walsh

Lucy Walsh is a talented singer/songwriter and classically trained pianist. She will present original music that includes beautiful ballads and spectacular melodies. In 2008, Walsh appeared on the MTV reality show Rock the Cradle. She also served as Ashlee Simpson’s backing vocalist and keyboardist on her Autobiography tour.
Jon Schmidt

Jon Schmidt will captivate audiences of all ages with his powerful and exhilarating piano music that features a hybrid of classical, contemporary and rock & roll sounds.
Chuck Mead

As the co-founder of the three-time Grammy-nominated BR549, Chuck Mead became a catalyst for the alternative country music phenomenon in the mid 1990s. Today, he emerges as a solo artist, introducing his throwback style that unites the infectious sounds of country, folk and rock music.
Tony Scodwell’s Big Band

Local favorites, Tony Scodwell’s Big Band, will create a sound reminiscent of such greats as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Stan Kenton.
