Cultural arts series features family-friendly activities & entertainment
The City of Henderson announces Cy Curnin, lead singer of The Fixx, award-winning singer/songwriter, Karla Bonoff, and rising country music starlet, Whitney Duncan, will be the featured performing acts for the ArtBeat presented by Target cultural arts series in November. Cy Curnin will perform on Friday, November 6 at 7 p.m., Karla Bonoff will take the stage on Friday, November 13 at 7 p.m. and Whitney Duncan will close the ArtBeat fall season on Friday, November 20 at 7 p.m. All three shows will take place at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water Street, in the Water Street District and will include pre-show activities such as art displays and children’s make & take crafts at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Cy Curnin is the lead vocalist for the 80s rock band, The Fixx, as well as an accomplished solo artist. He will perform an acoustic show featuring his original compositions, as well as Top 20 hits by the band that made him famous, including “One Thing Leads to Another” and “Saved by Zero”.
Nick Harper, son of the legendary U.K. singer/songwriter, Roy Harper, and member of the 80s English pop band, Squeeze, will open the show.

Karla Bonoff is a talented singer/songwriter. Her earthly anthems depicting the emotions of soul-searching, heartache and joy have touched the souls of many people over the decades. Bonoff has written mega hits for musical legends like Bonnie Raitt, Wynonna Judd and Linda Rondstadt.

Whitney Duncan is an up-and-coming country music artist. She will perform her current single, “Skinny Dippin,’” and other songs including, “When I Said I Would,” as well as “My World is Over,” a song she wrote and recorded with Kenny Rogers. Duncan was a finalist on the USA Network television show, Nashville Star, in 2007.
All ArtBeat presented by Target acts take place at the Henderson Events Plaza. Blankets and personal coolers are welcome, but glass containers are prohibited.
